I have been on the job hunt since losing my position in June, and it's been incredibly frustrating. I've submitted 291 job applications across various fields, primarily in customer service and warehousing, yet I've only landed 5 interviews. It feels like I'm sending out countless emails only to receive rejection after rejection. I'm in my early 20s and just out of school, with about a year of combined experience in customer service, warehousing, and retail. I’m eager to start a full-time career, but it seems like an uphill battle. I can't wrap my head around why warehouses, which used to be more accessible, are now so selective. Back in 2021-2022, I remember applying to around 50 jobs in retail and warehousing and getting callbacks from about 20% of them. Now, I'm lucky if I get a 1-5% response rate for the same types of roles. It’s disheartening to see job postings demanding extensive experience and qualifications for positions that barely offer a decent salary. What has happened to the job market? How are others managing to find work in this chaotic environment?
