I have an upcoming interview for a full-time position that’s quite a distance from my current home. The job posting mentioned that they prefer candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance, but I'm open to relocating if I get the job. My main concern is how to address my willingness to move without making it seem like it would be an inconvenience for them, especially if they want someone to start quickly. Additionally, the job posting didn’t include any salary information, which complicates things further. Since relocating is a significant decision, I need to understand the compensation before I can commit. I'm unsure whether it’s appropriate to ask about the salary range during the first interview if they don’t mention it, or if I should wait until later in the process. I want to phrase the question in a way that doesn’t come off as if salary is my only concern.
