Navigating my first day of orientation for my new overnight job and training challenges

Today was my first day of orientation for my new overnight job, which luckily coincided with my day off from my main job. During orientation, my supervisor from my main job called to offer me a shift at a different location, but it was only for one day and I don't have reliable transportation. To complicate things, I found out that I have four days of mandatory training for my new job this week, which I wasn't informed about until now. I needed to figure out how to tell my main job that I have classes to attend this week. After some thought, I decided to be straightforward and let my supervisor know. I called him and explained, "I have mandatory classes that I have to attend this week until Thursday. This will be the only week this is happening. My apologies for the short notice, but I just found out about it myself." He was understanding and said, "Alrighty, thanks for letting me know. We’ll figure it out over here; you’re all good man!" I feel relieved that my main job was accommodating. I've been working hard there, and I know my efforts have been recognized, which helped in this situation. I’m grateful for the support!
