Feeling undervalued and overlooked after two years in customer service role

I’ve been working at my current job for almost two years, primarily in customer service. When I was hired, my manager emphasized the potential for growth and encouraged moving up within the company. However, after about five months, my boss was reassigned, and a new manager, Stewart, took over. Stewart mentioned that they wanted me to transition into a trainer role since my colleague had moved to another position. Unfortunately, months went by without any new hires to support us, and I found myself working long hours, from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., taking on multiple responsibilities without a title change. Eventually, I was told that I wouldn’t be becoming a trainer after all, but Stewart insisted I was too valuable to lose. Recently, another position opened up, but I wasn’t informed about it and saw that they hired someone externally. I later learned that my boss’s boss had asked if I would be interested, but my boss said he didn’t want to lose me. Today, during a meeting, I discovered that they hired a new person to work alongside my boss, and it felt like nobody even considered me for the role. I was so upset that I had to leave the meeting because I started crying. My boss had previously mentioned that I could eventually take over his position, but now it seems like that opportunity is gone with this new hire. I feel completely gutted and sad about the whole situation.
