Navigating Job Search Challenges After Year of Unemployment at 25

I’m currently in a tough spot as I’ve been out of work for over a year, and at 25, it’s really starting to weigh on me. I’ve been living with my grandparents, who aren’t in the best financial situation either, and I feel lost. I was enrolled in a two-year Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program, but I struggled and had to withdraw, leaving me without a clear path. I’ve been looking into unemployment agencies for support, but I’m feeling overwhelmed. The only job opportunities around me seem to be in customer service, which I really can’t go back to. My last position was at a fast food pizza chain where I worked primarily in the kitchen. It was exhausting, and I ended up feeling burnt out because I was doing more than my share while my coworkers slacked off. My last shift was particularly frustrating, and I just can’t keep pretending to enjoy that kind of work anymore. I have a short fuse and lack patience, so dealing with customers who are unhappy with my service is just not something I can handle right now. I prefer roles that involve problem-solving, but not the kind that requires me to smile through dissatisfaction. I’ve been searching for remote work options, but it feels impossible to find anything outside of customer service. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has found success in other industries or has advice on how to navigate this situation. I just need some direction and want to explore what else is out there.
