The legal system didn’t consider the context, and I ended up taking a plea deal because I couldn’t afford to fight it in court. Now, I’m facing the consequences of that decision, as it’s nearly impossible to find a job that doesn’t require a background check. I’ve reached out to legal experts, and they agree that the charges shouldn’t have been filed in the first place, but I’m still years away from being able to get this expunged. I’m actively looking for work, preferably remote since my child is now disabled, but I’m open to any job opportunities. My savings are running low, and I really need to secure something soon.
