I feel completely disillusioned with the promises that were made to my generation, particularly those of us in Gen Y and Z. We were pushed through the education system, from primary school to university, with the belief that if we completed our degrees, a great career would be waiting for us. We invested so much time and money into our education, thinking it would lead to a stable and fulfilling job. However, the reality is starkly different. Many of us are struggling to find jobs that pay enough to cover basic living expenses, let alone provide the comfortable lifestyle we were promised. The job market feels incredibly unstable, with layoffs happening daily, leaving us questioning the value of our hard-earned degrees. It's heartbreaking to see an entire generation feeling betrayed by a system that promised so much but has delivered so little. Maintaining motivation is a challenge when it seems like all we do is work just to survive. Life shouldn't just be about making money to get by; it should be about thriving and finding meaning in our careers.
