After being laid off, I embarked on a challenging job search journey that lasted two months. During this time, I submitted around 150 applications, sent out 100 messages on LinkedIn, and participated in 10 interviews across different companies. In total, I think I went through nearly 30 interview sessions. My experience is rooted in 12 years in the tech industry, specifically as a non-technical professional based in NYC. Ultimately, I received one job offer, which came about through a cold message I sent on LinkedIn rather than traditional networking. For anyone else currently in the job search trenches, I want to encourage you not to lose hope—keep sending those messages and applications!
