Embracing Empowerment: A Turning Point in My Job Search Journey

I’ve reached a turning point in my job search journey, and it feels liberating! After two exhausting years of interviews with no offers, I've decided to stop ghosting recruiters and companies that don’t impress me. I currently have a steady job that pays the bills, but it's not fulfilling, and I’ve been feeling drained by the whole process. My husband has been struggling even longer, with three years of interviews and no success, which adds to the pressure. Now, I’ve adopted a new mindset: I’m no longer desperate to please companies that don’t value my time. I’ve stopped responding to recruiters who ghost me after showing initial interest, and it has changed my perspective on this frustrating job market. I see it as a game I don’t have to play anymore. It’s empowering to approach job hunting with the attitude of "you can’t fire me, I quit." I’ve realized that companies are overwhelmed with applicants, so they often don’t treat candidates with respect. Why should I extend that courtesy to them? I’m focusing on finding companies that genuinely resonate with me and trusting my instincts. I also think it’s time to start a movement to protest this ridiculous job market. It’s not just about finding a job; it’s about reclaiming our power in this process!
