I recently faced a tough situation in my career journey that I want to share. After graduating from a Tier-3 engineering college in India, I landed my first job at a small non-MNC company in Mumbai as a DevOps trainee with a salary of 4.5 LPA. I was initially excited, but the loneliness of being away from my friends and family in Pune took a toll on me. Despite completing several certifications, I was not assigned any real projects, which left me feeling unfulfilled and isolated. After a few months, I started looking for new opportunities and found a Cloud Engineer position in Pune that offered a salary almost three times my current package. I was thrilled and decided to resign from my first job, even though I had a bond to fulfill. The new company agreed to hire me as a fresher, which felt like a dream come true. However, my excitement quickly turned into anxiety. The work at the new company was much more challenging than I anticipated, and my manager was not supportive. I struggled during my three-month probation period, feeling overwhelmed and intimidated. Despite my efforts to improve, I received negative feedback, and my probation was extended. This led to panic attacks and a decline in my mental health. I felt like I was constantly under scrutiny, and my self-esteem took a hit. My manager's comments about my work habits and his overall demeanor made me feel inferior. I started questioning my abilities and whether I was suited for a product-based company. Eventually, communication with my manager dwindled, and I sensed that my time there was coming to an end. This whole experience has left me feeling lost and unsure about my future.
