My role involves running errands to the hardware store, moving equipment around the job site, and laying down floor coverings. After exchanging a few messages on Indeed, the owner sent me the address of a job site and told me to just show up at a certain time and find one of his painters to assist for the day. It felt a bit sketchy to me, but I really need the work right now. I’m curious if this is a common way to get hired in the construction industry.
