I had a job interview at a coffee shop today while currently working part-time in retail. I've been feeling burnt out at my retail job, and I'm on PTO and FMLA due to a minor injury, which has kept me away from work for the past two weeks. This is my last week off, and with the holiday season approaching, my team is under increasing stress. I like my coworkers and manager, but I often feel undervalued and frustrated, especially since my age seems to be held against me. I've been in this role for a year and a half, and while I know what I'm doing, I don't want to take on more responsibility because it would add to my stress. I'm scared about leaving my current job, especially since I've never done it before. I worry about how to discuss my availability with the coffee shop if I get the job, and I'm concerned about the pay difference. What if I end up hating the new job and then find myself unemployed? I feel guilty about potentially leaving my team, even though I know I don't owe anything to a corporate company. I'm just a twenty-something trying to figure things out, and I could really use some advice on how to navigate this situation.
