I recently moved to Boston from Houston, and let me tell you, the cost of living here is a shock! I saved up enough to cover about six months of expenses, and I'm currently three months into my job search. Initially, I planned to take the summer off, but after a few freak-outs about my situation, I decided to get serious about finding a job. In just three days, I applied to 70 positions and ended up interviewing for six of them. Right now, I'm in a bit of a tight spot. I've received two job offers, but I rejected one because it was further away and a newer position that I didn't want to take on. The other offer is still on the table, and I need to decide by the end of tomorrow. However, I also interviewed for a job that I really want and felt good about, but the manager was out of the office the day after my interview, and now the recruiter is also out. I'm contemplating whether I should reach out to the recruiter for the job I want and mention that I have a competing offer, or if I should just accept the current offer I have and risk losing the chance at the other position. This is all new territory for me, as I've never faced rejection after an interview before, and the pressure is definitely on.
