Navigating a Job Change for My Husband as a Delivery Driver Amid Family Challenges

Today, I faced a really challenging situation regarding my husband's job. He has been working as a delivery driver for a local company for the past 11 months, and the convenience of the job was a huge factor in our decision for him to take it, given that the location is just a 3-minute commute from our home. We share one vehicle, so I drop him off every morning while managing our kids' schedules, especially our daughter who has multiple appointments due to her disabilities. This morning, he was informed that starting tomorrow, he would need to report to a different store for deliveries—40 minutes away without traffic, which can easily turn into an hour and a half during peak times. This change was communicated with less than 24 hours' notice, and to make matters worse, there’s no pay increase associated with this transfer. The manager's response to our situation was dismissive, suggesting I could just drop him off, completely overlooking the logistical nightmare that would create for our family. Feeling frustrated and trapped, my husband is considering calling out sick and using his PTO while he searches for a new job. We’re living paycheck to paycheck, and he’s the primary breadwinner. The thought of unemployment benefits in Florida is disheartening, as they max out at just $275 a week, which is far from enough to support our family, especially with our grocery expenses being around $400 weekly. I'm currently trying to navigate through the job handbook to understand his rights and options. Any advice or guidance from those who have been in similar situations would be greatly appreciated.
