Navigating Computer Literacy Requirements for Job Applications

I've been actively searching for jobs lately, and one recurring requirement I keep seeing is the need for computer literacy and proficiency in productivity software. To be honest, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and confused about what exactly that means. I haven't used programs like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace in years, and I only remember a little about Excel and Word from my school days. Outlook? I'm completely lost on that one. It seems like many entry-level positions expect candidates to have at least one certification in these software programs, but I can't even find a free Excel certification, which is frustrating. I'm really trying to understand what counts as basic computer literacy for a desk job. What exactly is considered productivity software? How can I learn these tools effectively? Are there any free resources or certifications available? And how do I gain experience with Microsoft Office when I haven't used it in so long? I feel a bit embarrassed asking these questions, but I'm genuinely confused and just want to improve my chances of landing a job.
