Applied for new job opportunities while considering a mental health break

I’m feeling really lost right now. I’m a 36-year-old man, and my wife (39) has been my rock through some tough times over the last five years. We've both faced a lot of challenges in the job market, especially since COVID hit. After a long struggle, we finally secured good-paying jobs in May, which brought us some much-needed stability and insurance. However, my current job is incredibly overwhelming and stressful. I’ve been in this field for over a decade, but I feel like I’m drowning every day. I often find myself working weekends just to keep up. We’ve planned a two-week Camino trip in Portugal this fall with my wife and her mom, which we’re all really looking forward to. I was assured at my job that my vacation request would be honored, but now I’m hearing that they won’t approve it unless I have enough PTO. This has me really anxious, especially since we’ve already booked our tickets and accommodations. My wife is supportive and has even suggested that I quit my job to go on this trip, emphasizing how important it is for my mental health. I’ve never been without a job since I was 15, and the thought of leaving my wife to shoulder the financial burden is weighing heavily on me. I’ve started applying for other jobs, but I haven’t had any luck yet. I’m contemplating quitting to focus on my health and enjoy the Camino, with the plan to find a local job afterward. But I’m torn about whether that makes me a bad partner. I want to contribute and be supportive, but I also feel like I need this break. I’m reaching out for any advice or insights on how to navigate this situation.
