Excited yet uncertain about my new remote insurance sales job offer

I recently received a job offer for an insurance sales position, and I'm feeling a mix of excitement and uncertainty. As a 27-year-old woman in Massachusetts, I'm eager to kickstart my career in a consistent role, especially since I enjoy sales. However, this position requires me to obtain my insurance sales license, which comes with a cost that I'm struggling to afford without assistance. The company has offered a $100 discount on the pretest/enrollment fee, but it still means I'll be spending a few hundred dollars. My girlfriend is a bit skeptical about the job, but there are several benefits that make it appealing to me. For one, there’s no direct cold calling; I would primarily be following up on information requests through Zoom calls and phone calls. The role is fully remote, allowing me the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US or Canada, which is a huge plus. Additionally, the position is union-backed, and I’m really interested in being part of a union, especially since physical labor isn't my strong suit. The commission structure and renewal bonuses also seem promising. Given my current financial situation, I’m considering asking someone for help with the licensing fees, as I need a stable income and can't afford to take a lower-paying job in the meantime. Overall, I'm weighing the pros and cons carefully, especially the union and remote work aspects, which are significant draws for me.
