Navigating Job Market Confusion After Completing My Master's in Mathematics

I am about to complete my master's degree in mathematics and I’m feeling quite confused about the job market, especially for analytics roles like data analyst or business analyst. As a fresher, I see many openings, but I’m unsure about what companies really want in candidates for these positions. It seems that internships and entry-level jobs, which are supposed to provide industry exposure, are not functioning as they should anymore. I'm considering whether I should change my career path entirely or explore freelancing opportunities in areas like backend engineering or AI engineering. It feels frustrating to be waiting for a job to start earning and living my life. I’m also contemplating starting a low or no-investment business to utilize my skills. It appears that companies are less inclined to hire beginners, as they may not see the immediate benefits. I would appreciate any thoughts or advice on how to navigate this situation.
