I recently had an interesting encounter at an AT&T store in Los Angeles while trying to cancel my service due to their poor coverage. As I walked in, I noticed a sign that said "Now hiring" and, out of curiosity, I asked the employee about it. To my surprise, she seemed eager to hire me, despite my lack of sales experience. After expressing my concerns, she went to get the manager, Johanna, who came out and asked if I was interested in the retail sales associate position. I was honest with her about my background in warehouses and no experience in retail sales, but she assured me that they would train me and needed someone quickly. In the heat of the moment, I agreed to start training next Monday. However, after reflecting on the situation during my drive home, I started to feel uneasy. The urgency they showed felt suspicious, and when I looked up reviews from former employees, I found nothing but terrible feedback about working there. Now I'm left wondering if I should actually go in next week, knowing I have no retail sales experience and feeling uncertain about the work environment. Would you take the job in my position?
