I have been volunteering at a local community radio station since July while searching for a job. I hold certificates in business administration and retail, but I’ve been long-term unemployed. My role at the station involves various administrative tasks like checking emails, answering rare calls, managing the visitor calendar, collecting mail, checking supplies, and ensuring live broadcasts are on air. However, I find that most of my time is spent on radio-related tasks, such as basic editing of programs and presenting short segments. I'm starting to question whether this experience is truly beneficial for my job search in business administration or retail. I'm wondering if I should seek out a different organization that offers more relevant administrative work to enhance my skills for future employment.
