I recently went through a frustrating job application process with a well-known company. After several rounds of interviews, I received a verbal offer from the HR, who asked for my salary expectations. I quoted a mid-range salary of $200K, which was within the range of $150K to $230K that I had in mind. The hiring manager then called me shortly after and offered me a salary of $190K, which I accepted. However, a week went by without any official offer letter or further communication from HR or the hiring manager. I decided to reach out to the hiring manager, who informed me that I needed to go through one more interview with his top manager. I completed that interview, but then there was another week of silence. Just when I thought things were moving forward, the hiring manager canceled a scheduled 1-on-1 interview on the morning of the interview date with no rescheduling. This has left me feeling quite annoyed and confused about the whole process. I suspect that they might be waiting for H1B approval for another candidate and are keeping me as a backup. I've tried to contact HR for clarity, but they seem unresponsive and unreachable. I'm at a loss about how to navigate this situation and would appreciate any advice.
