I started a new job as a Warehouse & Shipping Supervisor in February 2026, after spending over 7 years in logistics primarily as a stores person. I found this position through a recruitment agency and was upfront with my former manager about my lack of supervisory experience. The role was created to alleviate some of their workload, but since they left in October 2026, I’ve felt completely abandoned. Although I passed my probation in August 2026, the training I received was sporadic at best. Now, with my former manager gone, it’s clear that they were the glue holding everything together. I’ve been left to pick up the pieces, and I’m struggling to manage my responsibilities without proper guidance. A replacement for my former manager was found and started training just yesterday, but I’ve been informed that there are significant gaps in my training. I’ve been told I’m too focused on stores, which is understandable given my job title, yet I’m also expected to handle various other duties that I haven’t been adequately trained for. The colleague I supervise, who is a part-time stores person, is not very tech-savvy and often needs my assistance to complete their tasks on time. If I take leave, I worry about who will cover their role. Meanwhile, my interim manager, the Finance Project Manager, is too busy to oversee my training and has expressed concerns about my performance, despite my attempts to address the issues. I feel stuck in a cycle where I can’t seem to do anything right. If I take initiative, I’m told I’m overstepping; if I do nothing, I’m not contributing. I’ve reached out for help, but the response is often that it will have to wait, which is frustrating because I know it could negatively impact customer satisfaction. Overall, I feel abandoned in my role. The people who should be helping me succeed are too busy with their own responsibilities, and I'm left to navigate this challenging situation on my own.
