I recently interviewed for a position with a salary range of $83k to $115k. After the interview, the recruiter asked for my salary expectations, and I confidently stated I was looking for $110k to $115k due to my extensive experience and a master’s degree. A few days later, I received a verbal offer of $91k, which was actually lower than my current salary, so I had to decline. The hiring manager then called back with a revised offer of $95k, claiming it was the highest they could go. I turned that down as well, explaining that I would need at least $103k to consider making the move. I followed up with a thank-you email, expressing my interest in future opportunities around that salary. Since then, I haven't heard back, although the job posting still indicates it's 'Under Consideration.' I'm left wondering if this is the end of the negotiation or if there’s a chance they might come back with a better offer. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
