Navigating TWC Overpayment Claims and Suspicious Verification Requests

I was laid off in 2020 due to Covid and received unemployment benefits for about 8 weeks. However, the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) later claimed I was overpaid and demanded repayment. I've been battling this issue for the past six years, appealing their claims and going back and forth with them. They periodically reach out to collect this supposed overpayment, but when I try to contest it, I often don’t hear back for a year or two. I had a hearing in 2021 where I was the only one present, which was frustrating. Recently, I received an email from them stating I needed to verify my identity within 48 hours, or they would make a final decision on the matter. I called them immediately and followed up with an email, but I didn’t get a response. Today, as the deadline approached, I finally got through to someone who said that verifying my identity would reverse the overpayment claim and close the case. They sent me a link to a portal for verification, but I'm hesitant to upload my Social Security number, driver's license, and proof of residence because the portal looks suspicious. The email was from a legitimate TWC address, but the portal takes me to a GoAnywhere Web Client, which raises red flags for me. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
