I’m currently facing a tough job search situation for my wife, who recently graduated with her BSN and passed her NCLEX. She’s certified to practice in California, but despite applying to countless positions and New Grad Residency Programs in the Joshua Tree/Yucca Valley area and even extending her search to Palm Springs and San Diego, she hasn’t received any job offers. She has a solid background with about five years of experience as an ER technician and has worked as a phlebotomist, plus she holds an EMT certification (though it may have expired). We’re starting to consider the possibility of her moving back home across the country just to gain some nursing experience, which is heartbreaking because we have young kids under five. I really don’t want her to miss out on these crucial developmental years. I’m reaching out to see if anyone has faced a similar challenge in securing a nursing job as a new grad and what steps they took to overcome it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
