I recently applied for a position at a company and received an email late Friday afternoon asking if I could come in for an interview on Monday morning at 10:45 AM. Unfortunately, there was no way I could take time off work on such short notice, so I had to decline. I expressed my willingness to reschedule for another time that worked better. They agreed to check with the manager about available slots. However, just a few minutes after 9 AM on Tuesday, I received a rejection letter from them. This has been a frustrating trend I've noticed lately. It seems like companies are scheduling interviews at the last minute without considering that many good candidates are currently employed and can't just drop everything. It feels like if you can't make their tight schedule, you're automatically out of the running. I understand that hiring can be urgent, but this approach is disheartening and doesn't seem to accommodate the reality of most job seekers.
