Thomson Reuters plans to cut 500 engineering jobs while hiring 250 new engineers

I recently learned that Thomson Reuters is planning to cut a small number of engineering jobs. Specifically, they are eliminating up to 500 roles globally, which accounts for about 1.8% of the entire workforce of approximately 27,100 employees. This reduction will impact around 5.2% of the operations and technology division, which has about 9,400 employees. Interestingly, while they are letting go of these positions, the company also intends to hire over 250 new engineers in the next two years. It seems like they have a history of outsourcing, which adds to the uncertainty.
