Reflecting on Verizon's Store Closures and Layoffs Amid Industry Changes

Today, I learned that Verizon is planning to sell 274 stores and lay off another 500 corporate employees. As a former employee in the marketing department, I can see how the declining interest in new phone plans is impacting the company. It seems like the competitive landscape has changed drastically with the merger of T-Mobile and Sprint, leaving Verizon and a couple of others to focus more on stock prices than on actually enhancing customer experience or investing in their networks. It's disheartening to witness this trend in the wireless industry, where growth appears stagnant and companies are more interested in cutting costs than innovating.
