Resigning as Regional Operations Manager Due to Unexpected Travel Requirements

I recently made the tough decision to resign from my position as a Regional Operations Manager at a company in Pennsylvania. I started this role about four months ago, and during the interview, the owner assured me that while the job would involve some travel, it would not require any overnight stays. He even noted that my proximity to the locations I needed to visit would allow me to drive back and forth each day. However, things took a turn when the company suddenly insisted that I start staying in hotels throughout the week for my visits, which are only 40 to 70 miles away. This change felt unreasonable to me, especially considering the additional costs involved. I felt that this was a significant shift from what I had originally agreed to when I accepted the job. I’ve already drafted my resignation email and am now wondering about my eligibility for unemployment benefits, given this unexpected change in my job expectations. I hope to find some clarity on this before I officially submit my resignation.
