Navigating Job Applications Without All Qualifications: Seeking Real Experiences

I'm currently on the job hunt and I've been noticing that many positions require qualifications that I don't fully meet. For instance, I've come across several roles that ask for a bachelor's degree, which I don't have, although I do possess a significant number of college credits. Additionally, some jobs are looking for experience in a specific field, but my background is similar, just not an exact match. I've heard advice to 'apply anyway,' but I'm really curious about how effective that is in reality. Have any of you landed a job despite not meeting all the qualifications? What were the gaps in your experience, and what do you think made the employer choose you? I'm trying to understand if job postings are more of a wish list or if employers genuinely expect candidates to tick every box, especially regarding the educational requirements.
