I signed an offer letter for a position and was supposed to start on August 21st. However, my start date keeps getting pushed back due to ongoing issues with my background check and drug screen. I submitted all the necessary information on the same day I signed the offer, and I completed the drug screen two days later. Yet, here I am, two weeks later, and both results are still pending. My HR team has been in contact with the third-party company responsible for the checks, but they keep getting vague responses about looking into it and promising updates. I'm not worried about passing either check, but the delay is frustrating and confusing. I’m concerned that these ongoing issues might lead the company to reconsider my hiring. Has anyone else faced a similar situation? Is there anything I can do to expedite this process?
