I’m currently facing a tough situation at my job where I suspect layoffs are imminent. I received a notification for a one-on-one hour-long call with my manager, and I’m really torn about whether to attend. Part of me thinks it might be better to skip it since I already have a bad feeling about the outcome. However, I’ve seen advice suggesting that avoiding the meeting could be a huge mistake. It seems like attending might lead to either a performance improvement plan or, worse, an official layoff notice. I work in IT, and from my experience, these decisions are often made well in advance, so it feels like I’m just delaying the inevitable. I’m still debating what to do.
