I'm currently in a tough spot at my new job, which I just started two days ago. During the interview, I was warned that the environment was intense and "not for everyone," but I brushed it off thinking it was just standard corporate talk. However, my first day was chaotic; I didn't even have a company computer set up until late in the day. At 6 PM, I was handed a task with a 20-minute turnaround, even though it typically takes an hour. On top of that, we have three standup meetings daily, including one at 6 PM. The communication is through Telegram, and I noticed people working late into the night, often until 1-3 AM. There were also unsettling discussions about AI potentially replacing roles, along with leadership suggesting that raises are linked to working 12+ hour days. While I understand that some thrive in such an environment, I'm realizing it's not the right fit for me. The pay is excellent, which complicates my decision, but I'm already feeling overwhelmed and miserable. I'm seeking advice from anyone who's been in a similar situation. Should I stick it out longer or trust my instincts about the culture not aligning with my long-term goals? If I decide to leave, how should I go about it? I feel really awkward about the whole situation.
