I recently had an interview for a position I wasn't truly interested in. I had initially applied for a different role, but the application closed just before I submitted mine. A friend encouraged me to apply for this other position instead. During the interview, I mistakenly expressed that I wasn't interested in the role, as I was focused on the one I originally wanted. Now, I'm regretting that decision because I've heard there might be a chance to transfer to the desired position in a month. I'm feeling stuck and unsure if I should just accept my mistake and move on or if there's a way to salvage this situation. Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated.
