Navigating Job Interviews After Being Laid Off: Seeking Advice on Handling Questions

I just got fired today from my job and it's been a tough day. I have interviews lined up for tomorrow and one on Friday, which is a bit of a silver lining. However, I'm really unsure about how to handle questions regarding my current job responsibilities during these interviews. Should I mention that I no longer have that job? I’m worried about it being seen as lying if they check with my previous employer about my dates of employment. I’ve seen some advice suggesting to be honest about being laid off due to budget constraints, but I’m also tempted to just omit that information altogether. It feels like a tricky situation.
