I'm currently in a tough situation at my job where the environment has been toxic, and I'm looking to leave as soon as possible. Although things have improved slightly, I still feel like I can't continue working here. I've had a few interviews recently, and one seemed promising at first. During the initial interview, they proposed a budgeted salary that I was comfortable with, but when I received the official offer, it was lower than expected. I think I may have come across as disinterested when I heard the salary, and shortly after, they called to say they would offer a higher amount. However, now I feel uneasy about the whole situation since they walked back their original offer. I'm really unsure about what to do next. Part of me wonders if my hesitation is a sign that I don't actually want to take the job and relocate across the country.
