I recently applied for a position at a facility where I had an acquaintance as the head. After interviewing, I was disappointed to learn I didn’t get the job, but she kindly sent me a link to another role that she thought would be a good fit for me. I applied but received an auto-rejection email shortly after. Just when I was ready to move on, my acquaintance reached out again, informing me that HR didn’t process my application and suggested I contact the hiring manager directly. Now, I’m trying to draft an email to the hiring manager to inquire about my application without coming off as desperate or overly reliant on my connection. I want to express my genuine interest in the role and ask if there’s a chance to reconsider my application.
