Navigating the Challenges of My New Plant Programmer Role in Food and Beverage

I recently left my position as a control systems technician in the paper industry to take on a plant programmer role in the food and beverage sector, lured by a significant pay increase of over $20,000 per year. While I had my share of frustrations at my old job, I genuinely enjoyed the work and valued my coworkers. However, just two weeks into the new job, I'm feeling completely overwhelmed and miserable. I'm struggling to adapt to a new industrial process and unfamiliar programming software, which is already challenging enough without proper support. The onsite resources are virtually nonexistent, and the only person I can reach out to is about 40 minutes away and not particularly helpful. Now, I'm seriously contemplating going back to my previous employer, but I'm torn about the idea of giving up the higher salary and returning after leaving. It's a tough situation, and I'm hoping to hear from anyone who's been in a similar position. Any advice would be appreciated!
