I’ve been deep in the job hunting process lately, and honestly, it’s been really frustrating. It feels like there’s so much dishonesty involved. For example, I was quietly let go from my last job, and now I have to spin it as if I was just looking to "spread my wings." Then there are the interviews where I felt like I didn’t click with the interviewer, but I have to say I just wasn’t a good fit. It’s exhausting to pretend to be confident when I’m actually anxious. And don’t even get me started on the follow-ups. I’ve been ghosted so many times after interviews, and I know it’s because someone else had more experience. It’s like everyone is playing this game of pretending, and I just wish we could be more genuine. Why can’t we just be ourselves in this process?
