Applied for Social Media Management Role with European Company, Awaiting Next Steps

I recently applied for a social media management position with a company based in Europe, even though I'm located in the United States. I reached out to the team member who posted the job on a job board, expressing my interest and inquiring about potential remote work options. Initially, they informed me that they were looking for someone based in Europe, and I accepted that and moved on. However, a few days later, I was surprised to receive a message from the same team member saying they are reconsidering my application and would like to see my resume and portfolio. This has left me wondering if there's still a chance for me to land this role despite the location barrier. I’m eager to move forward but unsure how to approach this situation. I definitely want to send my resume and portfolio, but I’m also concerned about the logistics of working remotely for a European company. The pay is really good, and I’ve been searching for work for a while now, so this opportunity feels significant. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!
