I interviewed for a Software Engineer position last week and felt really good about how it went. The interview lasted over 40 minutes, and the interviewers seemed genuinely impressed with my answers. They even mentioned that they could see me working well with my potential teammate and talked about pair programming, which made me feel like they were already envisioning me in the role. They also mentioned some perks, like getting a backpack similar to my future colleague's, which felt like a strong sign they were interested in me. We discussed salary expectations, and they said they would talk to HR about it, which gave me hope. They also asked about my comfort level with working in the office for 2 or 3 days a week. I was transparent with them, and they appreciated that. However, now it’s Wednesday, and I haven’t heard anything since the interview. They didn’t explicitly say I got the job, so I know there’s no formal offer yet, but given how positive the conversation was, I expected to hear back by now. Has anyone else had a similar experience where the interviewers were so positive but then went completely silent?
