I'm currently in a tough spot with my job situation. I've been working for a company where I feel underpaid by about $5 an hour. Recently, I started interviewing for a new position that could potentially pay me $7 more per hour, though I suspect it will be closer to the $5 increase. I plan to move to a different state in July, but I haven't shared that with my current employer yet. I'm worried about the challenges of finding a new job without any connections after I move. Additionally, I have some ethical concerns about taking a position at a company that seems to value its employees and has a good culture. They’ve mentioned the possibility of placing me in a leadership role after a few months, which could be a great opportunity for my career. My work history includes three years in my current industry, a brief three-month stint at a previous job, and another three years in a different role before that. I also have a gap of three years for college and a short job from high school. One thing to note is that I might receive a raise at my current job in January, but I doubt it will be more than $1 an hour. I'm considering the advice I’ve received to take the new job offer if it comes through, as the immediate $5 increase is more tangible than the uncertain raise at my current job.
