I recently applied for a machine shop supervisor position after being cold called by a recruiter who found my CV online. I wasn't actively job hunting, but the opportunity seemed promising with better pay and similar responsibilities. I felt the interview went really well, and the recruiter even called me the next day to say the company was impressed with my performance. However, I learned that I didn't get the job because the other candidate had more experience on a specific machine. I'm feeling more disappointed than I expected, especially since I wasn't seriously pursuing this role. I guess I just wanted to vent about it. I plan to reach out to the company to thank them for the opportunity and express my interest in any future openings.
