Reflecting on my unexpected termination from UNIQLO due to subjective feedback

I was recently let go from my position at UNIQLO, where I had been working since 2022. The reasons for my termination were quite subjective, stemming from a so-called 'friendly smiles' policy that I apparently failed to meet. Since February, I had been denied a small raise of 50 cents and received warnings about my demeanor when interacting with customers. This all started after my previous boss left, and her parting gift to me was a warning and a denial of the raise. The new management seemed to build on that negativity. I genuinely don't understand how I was perceived as unfriendly. I’ve always received positive feedback from customers, often getting handshakes and compliments on my helpfulness and energy. I self-reflected on my interactions and couldn’t find any issues with my tone or approach. It’s frustrating to think that I was let go for something so intangible, especially when I’ve been told by others that I have a likable personality. This experience has left me feeling insulted and misunderstood. It's hard to explain to others that I was fired because I didn't smile enough. I’m taking this as a venting moment, but I know I need to move on and find a new opportunity.
