Feeling undervalued after training my replacement with a higher salary offer

I’m currently in the process of training my replacement, and it’s been a real eye-opener. I just discovered that they’re starting at $88,000, which is $22,000 more than my salary after three years of dedication at $66,000. Three months ago, I asked my director for a $6,000 raise during my annual review, especially since I hit 120% of my targets and hadn’t received a cost of living adjustment in two years. I was told there was no budget for raises in the department due to a leadership freeze on compensation adjustments. Feeling undervalued, I decided to seek other opportunities and accepted a new job offer. I gave my company a respectful three-week notice to ensure a smooth transition. However, during a screen-share session to help my replacement set up their portal, I accidentally saw their signed offer letter. Now, with only eight days left on my notice, I’m sitting at my desk refusing to write any handover documentation. It’s frustrating to see that they could find a budget to hire someone new but claimed poverty when I asked for a modest raise. It really makes me question the value of loyalty in the workplace.
