Applied for Manager of Technical Support: Job Description Shifted Focus

I've been actively job searching and have had several interviews with recruiters that seemed promising. They expressed excitement about my skills aligning with the job descriptions, but after a week, I received news that they were moving forward with other candidates. What struck me was that the job descriptions changed during that time, shifting the focus to responsibilities that were initially minor. For instance, I interviewed for a Manager of Technical Support position where the emphasis was on building processes and coaching, with only a brief mention of handling escalations. After my rejection, I noticed the job description was revised to prioritize escalations significantly more. I could handle escalations, but since it wasn't a primary focus during the interview, I didn't highlight my relevant experience as much as I could have. It’s frustrating to see companies not have a clear understanding of what they want or to communicate effectively with recruiters. I feel like I'm investing time in applications only to have the requirements change unexpectedly. Has anyone else experienced this kind of shifting focus in job descriptions?
