I recently received an email from a recruiter claiming to be looking for an executive-level candidate. They reached out using a personal email address, which immediately raised some red flags for me. The name of the recruiter was Kullman, but their email said Kullmen, and they even made a typo in their sign-off, writing 'best regard' instead of 'best regards.' There was no LinkedIn profile or company contact information provided, which felt very unprofessional. What really caught my attention was that they accurately referenced my previous employment, which they could have easily found on LinkedIn. I asked them for their LinkedIn profile or a corporate website, or if we could have a quick call to discuss the position further. They refused all of my requests, citing confidentiality. Given these circumstances, I'm starting to think this might be a scam. I shared my concerns with some friends, and they pointed out that the use of a personal Gmail account is a huge red flag. They also mentioned that the refusal to provide verification of their identity is suspicious. I’m trying to be cautious and not get caught up in what could be a phishing attempt.
