I followed up on a job position at Company A after having two interviews that I felt went really well. I wanted to check in because I had received another job offer from a different company and needed to make a decision within a week. When I reached out, I was told that I was the top applicant and that they hoped they hadn’t missed out on me. However, on the last day of my deadline for the other offer, I received a call from HR at Company A. They expressed how much they liked me and my interviews but ultimately decided to go with another candidate. It was frustrating because I wish they had informed me sooner so I could have accepted the other offer without the stress of waiting.
