Excited to Accept a New Remote Job Offer After Leaving a Toxic Workplace

I recently made a bold decision to quit my incredibly toxic job for the sake of my mental health, without having a backup plan. Two months later, I signed my new offer letter, and I couldn't be happier. I went against popular recommendations and didn't use AI to write my resume, tailor it for each job, or write cover letters. Instead, I focused on applying to something every day, using platforms like LinkedIn and Idealist, and made relevant connections. I kept my search parameters broad rather than narrowing down to specific job titles, and I practiced extensively for each interview. I also got incredibly lucky. Last year, I faced my first layoff and managed to land a dream role with a big salary bump and a hybrid environment. Unfortunately, the manager who hired me left before I started, and I ended up with a micromanaging boss who made my work life unbearable. I decided enough was enough and resigned, having about three months of savings to fall back on. After quitting, I focused on finding remote work opportunities. I applied daily and had three strong leads, one of which I declined because it was a short-term contract. After a few weeks of rejections, I finally received an offer for the job I had been hoping for! Although it comes with a significant pay cut, it's still enough to cover my bills, and I’m excited about the amazing team and the chance to grow with a smaller company. Plus, it's fully remote! I don't think my approach was anything special; it was mainly luck, but I prioritized my mental well-being during the process. Job searching can be incredibly stressful, and I learned that taking care of myself was essential. So, to anyone out there, hang in there and take care of yourselves!
