Applied for a manufacturing role and secured an on-site interview for a better fit position

I recently applied for a manufacturing position at a company where there were only two applicants. After reaching out to two employees, I received positive feedback about my interest, and they mentioned they would inform the recruiting manager. However, I was later contacted by someone else from the company who suggested a different role that was a better fit for my skills and offered higher pay. This new position is more challenging and has attracted around 50 applicants since it was posted a month ago. I had a screening call where they mentioned they would recommend me to the hiring manager for this direct role, but I still needed to submit my application. During the call, we discussed my work authorization as a foreigner and my availability for an on-site interview. They indicated that if the manager wanted to meet me, they would send an interview date. To my surprise, the very next day, I received an email confirming the on-site interview, which is scheduled in two weeks. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much given the competitive job market, but I really want this opportunity. I’m curious if getting an on-site interview is generally considered a good sign in situations like this.
